Grand Theft Reality

North American culture, over the decades, has been very capitalistic, therefore suggesting violence as a way of getting what you want. Many factors play significant roles in condoning violence. Because of the exponential technological advances in machinery and weaponry, it has become a scapegoat for many poverty line citizens to support their families by burglary and kidnapping. The underground drug trade is a great contributor to North American violence. Mexico’s drug war took 5,612 lives in 2008 alone. The well known “Grand Theft Auto” series puts this violent and free-spirited lifestyle in perspective, letting youths explore and massacre who ever may lie in their paths. This is a perfect example of how today’s media can influence the public of today.
